Client: LPD Home
Connecting complex inventory systems with a seamless digital storefront.

Background
LPD Home came to us with a challenge that sits behind a lot of large ecommerce websites: keeping thousands of products, and all the data attached to them, accurate and up to date across multiple systems.
Their internal product management system was already the source of truth for their catalogue. What they needed was a reliable way to connect that data directly to their website, without relying on duplicate data entry or manual updates.
The Brief
LPD Home manages a large and constantly evolving product catalogue. Each product carries far more than a name and a price: descriptions, dimensions, specifications, imagery, pricing, stock levels and other product information all need to stay consistent wherever that product appears.
Managing the same information independently in the website created unnecessary work and, more importantly, the possibility of the two systems drifting out of sync.
The integration needed to handle the initial import, but it couldn't stop there. As products changed internally, the website needed to change with them.
The Approach
Creating a single source of truth
Rather than introducing another place for the LPD team to manage their catalogue, we designed the integration around the system they were already using.
Their internal platform remains the source of truth. The website becomes a connected destination for that data.
We built a bespoke integration layer that takes the product information managed internally and maps it into the structure required by WooCommerce. Products, descriptions, dimensions, imagery, pricing, inventory and other attributes are transformed and synchronised automatically.
That meant thinking beyond simply moving data from A to B. The two platforms structure products differently, so the integration needed to understand how information in one system should translate into the other while preserving the relationships and detail needed by the storefront.
The Solution
A product catalogue that keeps itself up to date
Once a product has been created on the website, the integration continues to listen for changes from LPD's product system.
When something changes, whether that's a price, a new image, updated product information or a change in inventory, the relevant data is synchronised with WooCommerce so the website reflects the latest information without somebody having to make the same change twice.
This gives the LPD team one place to manage their products while allowing the website to operate as part of the wider business rather than as an isolated ecommerce platform.
It also gives us a much stronger foundation to build on. New products can flow into the website consistently, existing products stay aligned with the source data, and the integration can evolve as LPD's catalogue and internal systems change.
